Green energy output by Ignitis up 30% in H1

The total output of the wind and solar power generating units of Lithuanian energy group Ignitis Group, which owns one solar park also in Estonia, grew 29.9 year over year to 593.5 gigawatt-hours in the first half of 2020, informs LETA/BNS.
By segment, the group's hydroelectric power plants produced 464.8 gigawatt-hours of electricity, 36.3 more than in the first six months of last year.
The group's wind power generating units in Lithuania and Estonia generated 128.6 gigawatt-hours of electricity in the six months, 11.1 more than in the same period in 2019. The increase was attributed to periods of very strong winds at the beginning of the year.
Companies of the group currently operate four wind farms in Lithuania and one Estonia with a total capacity of more than 76 megawatts.
