Animal rescue seeks help for homeless man, dog victimized in attack
The bond between a man and his dog is unshakeable."He's been doing everything to protect her," said Maria Latham, director of Country Roads Animal Rescue. "He came in asking for help for her, not for him."People recently attacked a homeless man named Timothy and his dog, Baby, according to the animal rescue's Facebook page. Officials said Timothy and Baby were repeatedly kicked during the incident."He was physically attacked, and the dog was kicked so hard it spun her whole body around," Latham said.After learning about what happened to Timothy and Baby, Latham felt she had to do something."My heart just immediately broke for the both of them," she said. "My husband and I booked him into a hotel, got him everything he needs at Target, started a GoFundMe for him."Latham said it was Timothy's selflessness that stuck out most."He has a whole backpack of her veterinary paperwork, things that families with homes, jobs don't have for their animals."Latham said Timothy has a busy day lined up for Monday, with the animal rescue trying to set him up with a job and finding him stable housing so he can be reunited with his dog.The GoFundMe page to help Timothy and Baby can be found here.
