Casio, one of the world’s largest consumer electronics companies, is moving from its Dover campus and opening two new locations, the company said in a statement Tuesday.
The company plans to establish a new headquarters in Jersey City and new operations center in Rockaway, according to the statement.
“This is a strategic investment in Casio’s future,” Tom Kato, chairman and CEO of Casio America, said. “By embracing modern work environments, expanding access to key talent, and optimizing operations, we are ensuring Casio remains at the forefront of innovation, efficiency, and long-term growth.”
A spokesperson for the company said Thursday the reorganization was also designed to align teams more closely with the needs of the business.
The company said it plans to hold a series of employee engagement initiatives early this year with transitions to the new locations expected in late summer.
The sale of the Dover campus is expected to be completed by the end of 2025, according to the company.
The restructuring is “designed to modernize operations, enhance innovation, and position the company for long-term success,” the company said in Tuesday’s announcement.
Casio’s new headquarters will open at 185 Hudson St. in Jersey City and offer more modern and collaborative environment for employees, the company said.
The Jersey City location also places the company closer to “key business hubs” and offers access to customers, vendors and other resources, the statement said.
The operations center at 100 Enterprise Drive in Rockaway will centralize finance, legal, IT, customer service and business administration to improve operations, according to the company.
“This transition is about creating an environment where our employees can thrive, collaborate, and continue to innovate,” Pamela Cosmillo, general manager of Human Resources at Casio America, said. “We are dedicated to supporting our teams every step of the way, providing the tools and resources needed to navigate this change successfully.”
The company said it would support employees through the transition, offering commuter benefits, flexible work arrangements and enhanced workplace resources, according to the company statement.
A spokesperson for Casio America said there were no plans for “company-wide job eliminations” at the moment and that their goal was to “retain as many employees as possible through the transition.”
Casio America is a subsidiary of Casio Computer Company based in Tokyo, Japan. The company produces a number of well known consumer electronics including calculators and watches.
