Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to undertake a state visit to Sri Lanka from 4 April to 6 April at the invitation of President Anura Kumara Disanayaka.
This visit, announced by India’s External Affairs Ministry today (28), follows Modi’s participation in the 6th BIMSTEC Summit in Bangkok, Thailand, and marks his first trip to Sri Lanka since 2019.
During his three-day visit, Prime Minister Modi is expected to hold discussions with President Disanayaka to review the progress of cooperative initiatives outlined in the Joint Vision for “Fostering Partnerships for a Shared Future,” a framework adopted during the President’s earlier state visit to India.
In addition to the meeting with President, PM Modi is set to engage with senior Sri Lankan dignitaries and political leaders.
According to the EAM, a key highlight of the visit will be the PM’s trip to Anuradhapura, where he will inaugurate development projects funded by Indian financial assistance.
